About our group...
Dial Wood is run entirely by volunteers. Every helper who comes to us is a volunteer and commits to a few hours each week. All volunteers receive regular training in health and safety, stable management and preparing ponies for carriage driving. In return, volunteers receive RDA certificates and hours can be earned towards Duke of Edinburgh and Volunteering Awards. If you can spare a few hours a week please give us a call, and arrange to come along to one of our sessions. All our volunteers have recently successfully undertaken first aid training.
In May 2009, 6 of our volunteers successfully completed a NPTC Safety with Horses Award, covering health and safety practices in the equine industry. Dial Wood is now an approved training centre for anyone wishing to take the Safety with Horses course. Anyone interested should contact Audrey Honeyman at the address below. In 2011 a further 5 volunteers are currently doing the course.
